With the festive season well underway, one thing is for certain here at pm Connections - the Christmas jumpers, mulled wine, and jolly spirit are out in full force.

But whilst our clients might be lucky enough to receive a mince pie or two thrown in alongside our stellar service and professionalism – there is one classic festive item that they’ll be going without from us this year…
That’s right.
In keeping with our time-honoured traditions here at pm Connections, we’ve opted against exchanging Christmas cards within our team and between customers.
Why, we hear you ask? Simply so that we can donate that money to some of our favourite charities, instead.
Giving back to our community this year…
This year, the responsibility to choose which charities we were supporting fell to some of our newest team members, Darren, Colin and Mohan.
Let’s take a look at what the team has chosen…
-
Claire House Hospice
Our first selected charity, Claire House Hospice, helps terminally ill children make the most of life by creating wonderful experiences and bringing back a sense of normality to family life. By providing specialist nursing care and emotional support, the charity helps families find their smiles during life’s tough moments.
-
Cancer Research
Meanwhile, Cancer Research UK was our second choice of charity. It is dedicated to conquering cancer through groundbreaking research and innovative treatments. The charity focuses on discovering new ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat the disease, aiming to save lives.
-
Guide Dogs for the Blind
Finally, our third charity, Guide Dogs for the Blind, works to provide visually impaired individuals with highly trained guide dogs to enhance their quality of life and independence. The charity pairs guide dogs with those in need and provides an invaluable service to the blind community across the UK.
In total, we’re proud to have donated a fantastic £150 collectively to our chosen charities this festive season – and we would like to thank all of our team members for their kind generosity and support.
Supporting The Salvation Army
In addition to this, though, a special thank you goes out to our Operations & Service Delivery Manager, Bee, who has kindly collected toys and festive donations for The Salvation Army’s ‘Christmas Present Appeal’. The initiative gives presents to children who may otherwise not be receiving any gifts this year.
Much like last year, sadly, due to the rise in living costs, there are thought to be thousands of families across the country who are having to cut back on Christmas celebrations this year due to having to prioritise utility bills and putting food on the table.
“It’s a small effort on our part that we know goes a long way to make the Christmases of families across the country that little bit more special. We’re always pleased to get involved in this initiative and would like to thank The Salvation Army for organising it!”
How else are we celebrating Christmas?
Aside from our fundraising activities, we’re pleased to have kicked the month off with our annual Christmas party, where the team got together at The Park Royal Hotel in Warrington. It was a fab night of dinner, tipples, and lots of dancing – and it truly brought home the fantastic team spirit we’ve got under our roof.
Throughout the rest of the month, Bee, our Operations & Service Delivery Manager, has been busy spreading the festive spirit by baking some homemade orange peel mince pies for several of our lucky clients. We even pinched a couple ourselves, and have to admit she’s outdone herself!
