Helped charity achieve BSC accreditation

pmC worked with a leading UK animal charity on their objective of regaining their lapsed British Safety Council accreditation, implementing improvements along the way.

Our approach

pmC carried out an initial audit and gap analysis to understand the current state of play within the charity.  Our H&S professional worked alongside the in-house H&S team to identify and agree areas for improvement and then address these over a number of months.  This assignment was a blend of “doing” to achieve their immediate objective as well as leaving systems in place for ongoing use.  It was carried out part time to best fit with operational needs.

The outcome

We reviewed and updated the charity’s general H&S Policy and completed all required Risk Assessments, including a Fire Risk Assessment.  Fire training was delivered to over 750 employees.  The charity team were left with a Risk Assessment framework for future use.  Following a BSC audit, the charity achieved their accreditation.

“We were delighted to help the client regain their British Safety Council accreditation – the fact that they achieved the highest 5-star rating was the icing on the cake.”

“The on-line training approach was an efficient way to deliver the necessary fire training to a large number of staff across the UK, with the minimum of disruption to day to day operations.”
