We are appropriately qualified and competent to take on the Principal Designer and Principal Contractor role for construction and engineering projects. These can be from refurbishment, new build, extensions and engineering projects. A Principal Designer is required for projects that are more than 30 days and 20 contractors in length or more than 500 person days - whichever comes first.
Your role as principal designer is to plan, manage and monitor the co-ordination of the pre-construction phase, including any preparatory work carried out for the project. You must:
Duties as the Principal Designer apply regardless of the contractual arrangements for the appointment of other designers on the project. If you appoint other designers, the Principal Designer is responsible for ensuring that they have the relevant skills, knowledge, training and experience to deliver their work.
